Abstract

What Does It Mean to Be a Family Business? The study of family businesses remains an emerging field within academia. However, a significant challenge persists due to the lack of a universally accepted definition for what constitutes a family business. Professor John Davis, a renowned expert in this area, has meticulously reviewed various definitions from existing literature and categorised them into two main types: structural definitions and process definitions (Davis, 2001).
