Abstract
This article discusses a parent completed basic learning abilities screening questionnaire using clinical interview procedure. It was developed for children with learning disabilities who were referred by class teachers to a developmental clinic. The age range of the children was 6-10 years. The results showed the questionnaire had a good level of internal consistency. Five areas of learning disability were found by factor analysis: auditory-language ability, visual ability, learning behavior, motor ability and social adaptation skills. These areas combined accounted for 52.4% of the total variance. The LPSQ was shown to be able to discriminate normal children from children with learning difficulties.
