Abstract

This article aims to derive lessons on sustainable geothermal operation and monitoring by reviewing the Ohaaki geothermal field along 3 dimensions:

  • Ohaaki exploration, construction and consenting;
  • Modelling and resource assessment;
  • Operations and monitoring. Resource assessments are categorized according to UNFC-2009 Framework, which prescribes inclusion of Economic, Feasibility and Geological criteria/dimensions.
