Abstract
Co-creation, at first glance, is the epitome of collaboration with purpose. It is an idea that has its conceptual origins in marketing and design as an innovative means of reconceptualising the economic concept of ‘value’, with customer empowerment in mind (Ind and Coates 2013). In social sciences, including education, this shift to participatory processes inculcates the similar intent of empowering communities (minus the capitalism underpinnings), rather than just documenting information through consultative methods (Rock et al. 2018).
