Abstract

In this article we ask whether politicians during the electoral campaign reduce voters' uncertainty. We understand voter uncertainty as the standard deviation of the ideological location that citizens give to political parties. To test the hypothesis that politicians reduce uncertainty in the electoral campaign, we use the CIS panel survey from 2000. The results corroborate the hypothesis.
