Abstract

Written in four sections, this book explores a range of ideas about the construction of the Self. It is presented in four sections, each of which includes short fictional pieces (interviews, extracts, dialogues) which locate the ideas as well as presenting more orthodox academic chapters. The four sections each deal with an alternative Metadigm of the Self- the Object, Subject, Conject Self and the Embodied Person- and grapples with the ways in which competing paradigms have often operated in parallel under a broader umbrella of ideas. The core question the work raises is: Which Self?
