Abstract
For the first time in 51 years, for 2005 the Venice Biennale has entrusted its curatorship to the hands of women. Not one, but two, and both Spanish, The curatorial directors,Maria de Conal and Rosa Martinez, did not waste this opportunity to redress some of the shortcomings this grandmother of all international biennales has displayed in terms of representation of women.
