This paper examines the commitments of implementing environmental management among various construction practitioners in Hong Kong. A practical survey is used to demonstrate the extent in committing environmental-friendly practice within different organizations. Benefits and weaknesses in these practices are to be identified, and the reasons for these different practices are to be found. The understanding of the practices leads to the examination on the adequacy of these commitments with comparing to the requirements imposed by governmental policies. The study provides valuable information for different types of professionals to formulate strategies for improving environmental management during construction process.
