Abstract

The protest started when a handful of men walked on to a hotel balcony overlooking a busy three-lane inner-city road, holding up handwritten pleas for freedom. It was the day Brisbane (Meanjin), Australia went into the first of several COVID-19 lockdowns - April 2, 2020 (Figure 1).
