Abstract

This chapter situates the contributions to the book by sketching out relational and poststructuralist perspectives on space and tracing their important translations into the field of Management and Organization Studies. Specifically, it connects to the work of Michel Callon and Franck Cochoy on agencement and agencing and introduces the idea of ‘spatial agencing’ as a meaningful concept to explore the role and complexity of space as part of organising processes. The chapter concludes by elaborating on how spatial agencing can help shift the emphasis management and organisation scholars to the collective and open procedures of spatial processes that form part of everyday organising.
