Abstract

The gig economy can be defined as a broad range of labour transactions taking place through digital media, which relies on what have become known as gig workers (Kenney & Zysman, 2016; Schor & Attwood-Charles, 2017; Srnicek, 2017). Interest in the platform (or gig) economy has highlighted the impor- tance of technology in shaping customer experiences, policy about the future of work transformation, and societal relationships.
