Abstract
Reaction of cadmium carbonate with 1,4,7,10-tetraoxa-13 azacyclopentadecane-l3-acetiacc id (HL~)in warm aqueous solution results in the isolation of crystals of the tetrarneric cluster [ ~ d 4 ( ~ ~[C)d4C]14 ]2.3H20, an ordered assembly of acetate-bridged macrocyclic species. The crystals are triclinic, space group Pi with a 15.67(3), b 16.90(2), c 17.92(3) A, a: 101.41(4), p 115.57(7), y 102.23(8)'. R was 0.045 for 7191 [I > 2.5a(I)] reflections.
