Abstract

This paper is divided in three parts. The first part provides a brief overview of the relevance of tourism to be developed in synergy with city planning and management, as well as some worldwide renown examples. The second part addresses the topic of Chinese visitors, who they are and why they come to Australia. The last part questions the proposed “innovate or renovate” theme and offers some avenues to be explored.
