Abstract
Written after an extended period spent travelling internationally in 2018 Empire critiques the dominance of Eurocentric perspectives in travel writing and the implicit problematics of travel writing as a form in general. The article utlises a mix of creative non-fiction, analysis and textual interpretation and critique to illustrate this point and to reveal by example how creative form can function as criticism
