Abstract

Travel behaviour is facing revolutionary changes as the world steps into the connected era. Little is yet known about how social change affects people’s travel patterns and, in turn, how changing travel behaviour influences economic, social and environmental development in the connected era. This special issue focuses on different perspectives to examine the relationship between sustainable development and travel behaviour in the connected era. Topics include technological innovations and mobility, active travel and health, new big data sources for understanding transport disruption, and new travel demand models for assessing the impacts of new mobility services.
