Abstract

The Evidence Based Training project is sponsored by IATA and supported by ICAO and IFALPA. The aim is to identify, develop and train the knowledge, skills and attitudes required by pilots to operate safely, effectively and efficiently in an airline environment. An extensive analysis of safety data from a wide range of sources has identified the most relevant threats, errors and undesired aircraft states, as well as their management by crews. Previous presentations at APATS reported on progress of EBT in the recurrent training regime and this phase of development is now complete. This presentation will give insights into the results of the analysis of the evidence used to improve operational safety through more effective training standards.
