Abstract
This chapter gathers chapters on law, lawyers and justice through Australian lenses and concerns law, lawyers and justice through Australian lenses. The chapters focus on, expose and reveal dimensions of law, lawyers and justice through Australian film, television and social media. The idea of law, lawyers and justice through Australian lenses in this chapter also extends to a lens formed by the images, emojis and text on Australian social media accounts. It explains the exposure of law, lawyers and justice to Australian lenses film, television and social media is quite revealing, uncovering the illusions of Northern legality, the brutality of law and the contestability of justice in Australia. The first part concerns the unsettled law and justice in Australia. The second part focuses on bodies, gender and justice, bringing a lens to the intersections of Australian gendered identities and law.
