Abstract
The present analysis focuses on designing and implementation of fractional order-based PID controller designed using SQP algorithm and compared to a PID controller regarding time response characteristics. The objective is to minimize settling time and overshoot for the MIMO process including parameters to be controlled and pairing of controlled and manipulated variables. The paper also highlights performing of optimization using various performance indices. Another issue that is discussed in the paper is decentralized control.
